Mental illness amongst youth.

Nowadays with increase in competition in the world, everyone’s only goal is to succeed no matter what the way is. This is the root cause of all the problems. On top of that peer pressure and constant comparison also plays a vital role in causing a mental disbalance especially among the youth and the adolescent.

Moreover when the thoughts begin to take a toll, the society stops him from opening up to even their nearest people around. The social stigma of being labelled as ‘mental’ or ‘weak’ holds them back from sharing it with their family or friends. They fear constant humiliation and bullying and segregation from a community they earlier belonged to. Hence they choose being silent and cease talking with people.

I myself being a sufferer of this illness can surely imagine the pain of all those people go through this all by themselves. So it is very necessary to break the stigma that highlights such people as ‘mad’. It is extremely crucial for people, who have experienced themselves or have seen people in their periphery to suffer from such illness to raise voice for others well being.

This one step can make a huge change in the way people perceive this illness and will give some ease to the victims.
